INSECTS
Insects are a kind of invertebrate.
An insect has three parts in its body:
- The head has a mouth, two eyes and two feelers or antennae (plural for antenna).
- The thorax has wings and legs. most insects have wings and six legs.
- The abdomen is joined to the thorax.
INSECTS LIFE
- Insects are born from eggs. They are oviparous. Young insects are called larvae (plural for larva). Some larvae are caterpillars and have no wings or feelers.
- All insects breathe air.
- Some insects, like butterflies, are hervivorous (they eat plants). Other insects, like dragonflies, are carnivorous (they eat meat). Some others, like flies, are omnivorous (they eat both plants and meat).
